saw my car get rear-ended and then drive off while I was happily shopping in Target for curtain rods and a vacuum. Hastily he quickly wrote down the license plate number and gave it to the Target security. (which was very impressive quick thinking on his part) Upon my leaving Target I was approached by the security lady and shown the damage and provided with their plate #. I was not happy...
The police came to my work today to take my statement.... I found that odd... what freakin' statement could I honestly give. "I saw nothing, but there's damage".
The police are contacting Target as the security lady advised me that the cart boy would be a witness if I needed one and they would look through their security tape if the police needed that as well.
We'll see how it turns out... I have an accident report number and a phone number if I hadn't heard anything in a week.
I'll keep you all informed! oh joy! :o(
GOLDFISH!!!
I'm not quite sure why... but I love eating goldfish for breakfast... I'm more than sure they're not good for you, but for some reason, I really enjoy my goldfish.
On a side note... I finally broke down and bought a new camera. It was a necessary purchase that I've put off for far too long. I'm stoked about my new camera... welcome to the 21st century Brianne. All camera have the ability to videos... it amazes me how easily I am amused by such things. I love technology... it allows me to be so much lazier! Geez could you imagine having to write out ACTUAL letters... rather than emailing. No wonder the price of stamps went up... I just don't have the patience. :o)
Also, SABBATH car guy! I totally took a picture of the plate ... and will soon be posting it here. Also... I checked out parking directory for a plate with SABBATH on it. I FOUND IT!!! I'm such a child... but I totally wanted to see this guy. Sure enough... he's an overweight man, wearing way too much after shave/cologne and a whole slew of gold jewelry. Love it!!! Oh and his name is Kevin... I leave out the last name... just on the off chance he reads my journal and gets all offended. (we all know that won't happen).
So, I've had some more direction with my job. We're hoping to wrap all the major things up by the end of August and for sure close down shop by the end of the year. :o) Works out well for me.... will be graduating with my teaching degree by then! :o)
I really am in shock most of the time and just how well they treat me. For example, recently they decided that I should HAVE their corporate Amex points. Why... just because they thought I should.... so I cashed them in for a round trip ticket to Europe. Yes I did!!!! Air Swiss will be sending me my tickets to fly from any 6 locations in the U.S. to any of the 69 destinations in Europe. Yes, London is on there! I seriously didn't know what to say when they offered them to me... I looked like a special person with a big smile on my face and barely could talk. I've always thought I was pretty good at composing myself for any situation... I was clearly wrong.
So, that's what has been going on...
Oh... and I'm IN MY CONDO!!! whoo... hoo... I'm now happily living all by myself (well... with Molly the cat too) in a condo just off Dodge. Basically this allows for a four to five minute commute for work and now with teaching... it'll take me about 10 minutes to get there after work. Possibly 15 minutes to get back home! I gotta tell ya... I am absolutely elated! I've officially decided my next roommate will be my husband.... and that's that! :o)
Last night... a Boy Scout Camp was hit in Little Sioux, Iowa. Four boys were killed, two 13 yr olds and two 14 yr olds. I can't imagine the pain the family is going through at the loss of such young boys. Brave boys at that. I couldn't believe how these boys stuck together to help those in need - which was a staggering 48 in such a small area. One boy was even quoted as saying: "if a camp were to be hit I'm glad it was this one because we have been trained and no what to do in situations like this... always be prepared, that's the boy scout motto." It's hard to believe that these are still children.
I truly hope that we don't receive anything more....

I'm sitting at my desk and my freakin' phone cord is all tangled up again.... it's so flippin' annoying. I literally answered my phone and it was ripped out my hand due to the level of tangledness my phone is experiencing. So, I untangle it and due to be accustomed to the tangled phone cord I answer the phone and nearly throw the receiver because I'm use to having to hold my own against the cord so it doesn't ripped out my hand!!!
i have since untangled it again... and now ... is re-tangling itself!!!!
ahhhhh!!!!! why do the simple things always annoying you the most....
I want a cordless....
FOR ME!!!
So, it's totally normal to buy presents for yourself... right??? I think so.... well my birthday present to myself came slightly early this year, just a week or two, and I bought myself an 8gb sansa with a minisd expandable memory slot, voice recorder (probably won't use that) and fm radio. I also gave myself a membership to rhapsody for $15/mo of unlimited downloads. I've gotta tell ya... this is quite possibly the best gift I have ever given myself!!! :o) I totally love it! Use it in my car, while I'm at the gym... at home with my little speakers that I purchased for it... seriously seriously love it!!! :o) Unfortunately, now I have a video ipod that has become pretty lonely. Although, it was pretty lonely to begin with... as I never really got into it. I don't know why... but my Sansa seems so much more user friendly and it's far easier for the average person to find places to downloads songs at a better price.... ipod just seemed a bit too complicated and downloading .99 cent songs could get expensive through itunes. End of complaining... I love my gift!
This birthday, although spent traveling and losing luggage, was absolutely the best ever!!! Best birthday yet. I'm so over the moon about the fact that Jamie was able to meet my family, namely my grandparents. My Grandfather is 78 years old and not in the best of health, but I have always viewed him as my second father as I spent so much time at their house growing up. Now since my Father has passed away, he truly is my Father. Hence, why it was so important for Jamie to meet him. Couldn't help but smile when my Granddaddy told him.... now you do know ... I won't be attending any weddings in England... I'm too old to be traveling that far. :o) That's Granddaddy's obvious way of saying he likes him....
Gifts aside.... I felt so blessed to be able to be with my Granddaddy and Grandmommy on my birthday and have them put together such a nice family get-together for me. :o) Bonus was having Jamie there! :o)
I really really enjoyed showing Jamie around Denver, taking him to a Rockies' game and up to Red Rocks Amphitheater. Looking forward to one day seeing a concert there with him. :o)
All in all.... looking back, I smile every time. I also smile when I see the beautiful pink-stoned heart necklace that Jamie gave me.
Thank you Jamie :o) For everything. :o)
P.S. The history books were really appreciated too..... *wink*
Upon leaving work on Thursday I noticed a very nice looking Lexus in our parking lot. All gold bumper and mirrors and lining... and a very noticeable license plate....
SABBATH
Hmmm..... what should one make of this? I suppose he's new as I've worked here for two years and have never spotted it before and I again saw this car on Friday and once more this morning. Sooooooooo.... what do you think?
Religious? or in relation to the band.... or possibly something else???
My vote: Religion
Although... I would very much like to see the 'person' that drives this car. I'm totally expecting a mob boss looking guy in a suit and kinda chubby. No idea why.... but if you could see the amount of gold on this lexus... well.. maybe you'd understand.
I totally need to find my camera :o(
and I haven't written a thing... :o( Sorry!
Well...what's happened? Well... the week back in February that Jamie visited I got the flu... or some form of the flu. It was terrible... I could barely hear, my ears were plugged, my throat was swollen and I could only eat ice cream or broth, my nose wouldn't stop running and I had tissues jammed up them majority of the time... and yet he still wanted to be with me. How do I know.... well because he came to visit me again...
So... now fast forward to present day. Jamie just left on Sunday (June 1) to head back to London after 10 days. He arrived on May 23rd and then we drove down to Kansas City to stay the night and spend Saturday at The Plaza and then fly out to Denver that night. We spent Saturday (the 24th) through Monday evening (the 26th - my birthday) in Denver with my Dad's family. I was so glad I was able to take him to meet my family and subsequently had a fantastic time. Had great food, went out to a karaoke bar, took in a Rockie's game and saw Red Rocks (which I would love to see a concert there!!!) and a bit of a trivia at a local bar/restaurant. Jamie certainly got a feel for where my personality might have came from... then we headed back to K.C. by flight (where they lost our luggage) and then drove back up to Omaha (without our luggage). I spent the next day being the most annoying person I could possibly be and actually got our luggage back in less than 24 hours! :o) United apparently has a talent of losing luggage... hooray for them!!! :o(
While in Omaha I took him to the Henry Doorley Zoo, which he loved and back to The Durham Museum to see an exhibit on Omaha baseball (now being the recruited fan that he is) and a bit on Vicious Fishes of the Amazon (and other places). Very cool exhibit, great for kids... as we realized by the millions of kids running about and the smell of dirty diapers clearly needing to be changed. Upon leaving the museum I slid in baby puke and rammed my knee into the marble floor, ripped skin off my knee and made quite a nice bruise. It was bound to happen to one of us... we're both so clumsy, but at least we take turns! :o)
Jamie also introduced me to the Indiana Jones films (which I'd never seen... and yes I'm the American one!!!) we got through the first two and then saw P.S. I love you. Which was a nice fim and my sentimental side was sure tested... overall though... I'd say it was slightly above average .. but not my favorite.
So... all in all it was a really nice trip... lots of time together, traveling, seeing things, trying yummy foods and lots and lots of Starbucks!!! Green Tea Lattes to be exact... oh .. on ice! :o) mmmm....
Other than that... still in school and presently waiting to see when I will no longer be employed as my boss passed away in early April. He was 90 years old and led an amazing life meant for the movies, so he clearly had no regrets! :o) As of late, we are merely wrapping things up and eventually I will need to find alternative employment and am hoping they give me adequate time. Based on their past performance I'm very confident that they will be very generous!
Hope all of you are doing well... and look forward to catching up on your lives via LJ!
Take Care!

I'd like to think Molly has missed him as I know she enjoyed the extra attention of someone loving her up. :o) Adding to that... well sort of. Molly, I think, decided to fake an illness. We recently moved and there is another cat in the house about that's near 25 pounds.. so at minimum 3x's Molly's size. Well, she stopped eating and was yacking all over constantly.. even through out the night. I was convinced something was wrong with her. Especially when I tried to pick her up and she cried ... her stomach felt rock hard. :o( So sad. So I babied her and made her a little bed on the sofa (as it was closer to the ground and she had fallen trying to get up on my bed) and then put a little bowl of water down for her. I called her doctor (Dr. Burbach) once they were open and explained the situation and she wanted me to bring her in. I had been there just a month prior to start her shots for our London move, so she thought it was very odd the sudden transformation that I was explaining.
I go and pick her up and arrive at her doctor's office about 2:30 and they run a blood test. Perfect... everything is perfect except she's pretty dehydrated. Obviously from all the puking? Clearly. Dr. Burbach then asks... she's not prone to eating foreign objects is she and I say.. no .. as Molly has never done that. At least not ot my knowledge so she says well I can take an x-ray and find out. Nothing...not a thing in her x-ray. So... the decision is made that's she worked herself into such a frenzy from the move and hearing the other cat that she's stressed herself out. Molly! So... Dr. Burbach gives her some fluids and then a mild sedative for pain (as she cries when she moves or you attempt to move her) and then a little tummy settler (like people pepto).
I pay for everything... (which pretty much sucked!!!) and realize it's now nearly 4:30 and there are things I need to complete still at work ... if I take her all the way home and then get back to the office it's going to be so late. :o( So.. I decide she's coming with me. I get to the office she wants out of her carrier and then she proceeds to jump up on my filing cabinets (which are as tall as I am!) climb through some boxes, knock them over and hang out inside of them. I realize at this point she's clearly feeling a lot better and should probably shut my office door or she could escape. An hour later I head for home with Miss Molly and upon arriving home she goes right to her dish and begins eating. This little shit... doesn't eat for nearly two days.. and now.. she's fine! I'd like to think its the meds and she was being ornery.. but who knows. All in all I'm glad she's better... and possibly feeling better because Jamie's coming!!!
10 more hours!!! Whoo hoo!!! :o) Just checked the status... and he's on time and in the air! :o) Safe journey Jame!
So... do any of you have some fabulous pet stories... Amy and your bird.. you've got to have something? Especially now that he may be able to get out of his cage????
Do tell?
The moving truck will be backing up to my home tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.!!! Whoooo hooo... I can't tell you how thrilled I am! To finally move...
I was worried that the weather would be bad this weekend... however, it will be in the 30's! Yes!!!
So last night... I had my last real fill of drama... or so I think... before I move.
My roommate was apparently suppose to pick up his daughter at 5pm and texted his ex-wife and told her he'd be late and could she pick her up, then he'd pick her up from her house. He never showed up. :o( I learned this from my roommates sister who called and asked if her brother was home at around 8pm. So... I ask her .. what would you like me to do? She says.. well I've tried calling and texting and so has his ex-wife and now she's on her way over. Is of my brother's girlfriends over... (note girlfriendS) I say yes. She asks.. can you please knock on his door and tell him to call me .. it's very important.
I'm half tempted at this point to not knock on his door and simply let the ex-wife in to find he is simply "snuggling" with ONE of his girlfriends instead of spending time with his 3 yr old daughter. (Mind you.. he is NOT that attractive.. and the quality of the girls he brings home, lets just say they've lost all respect for themselves and it's sad to watch).
I decide to be a grown up and knock on his door and explain to him that his sister called and he should call her. Not even two minutes later ... the girlfriend comes rushing out of his room, suitcase in tow asking.. "how far away is she, will she be here soon" and now attempting to put her coat on while dragging the little suitcase down the stairs. (I honestly can't help but giggle). The garage opens and the garage shuts. Three minutes later... doorbell rings... my other roommate says .. I'll get it probably my pizza at which point I say. It may not be... check out the window. I then peak out the front window and see the ex wife's car with the little girl in the backseat still. Then the yelling began... I won't even go into detail as to what was all said.. but in the end his daughter stayed the night and his girlfriend never came back.
ah... *deep breath*... after moving... I just don't know if I'll be able to take all the quiet and the drama free home. Oh wait.... yes I will. I also be able to sleep at night instead of hearing him.. and whoever.. do ahem... who knows what.
Less than 24 hours!!! whoo hoo!!!
I couldn't believe it took me a half hour just to get to the interstate, due to how sloooooooooooooooow people were driving. What normally takes maybe 5 minutes, turned into 30 minutes. I have never in my entire life experienced such slow traffic due to snow and I have lived here 25 years and 9 of those years have been spent driving. :o(
For those that may be interested: http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=27
On a positive note, thank goodness I bought mittens. Clearing off the car last night after work would have been a painful experience had I not purchased them. :o) Well done me!!!
So... Jamie's coming in February!!! I think... :o/ .. Hmm.. he's being a brat and not telling me the days. That's not very nice... is it!?
Anyone has Valentine's plans in the work... or is it just another day?
So... it snowed. Boy did it... nothing compared to our late February/March snows but just enough that driving home took a bit of skill and driving in this morning took more than a bit of patience.
My normal 10 minute journey in, took 45 minutes. :o( My housing development hadn't quite seen a snow truck yet, my little car doesn't do so well on snow covered hills and people are ridiculous when they drive.
Recently, we've had quite the influx of people moving in o Omaha. I know I know... why Omaha! Well, we're in middle America and we're 3 - 3.5 hours or less to anywhere in the country, we're considered without accent - therefore a lot of call centers have moved headquarters to here and we have our fair share of Fortune 500 employers. That said... those from areas where it doesn't snow are so freaked out by the snow, even if a road is completely cleared, no ice or snow and plenty of salt/sand they drive 10 mph and lean forward as close as possible to the steering wheel and windshield. (pretty funny to watch actually!!! very frustrating when trying to get to work!!!). Those that have seen snow believe that their snow is the same as our snow. Although, sometimes true, not always. The whole windchill thing here turns snow into chunks of ice and that my friends... sucks!!! Although, my personal fav, no matter where they're from (including Omaha) are the ones with SUV's that believe because of their mode of transport they can drive however they want. Those are typically the ones stuck up on medians or down in the valleys off of the road.
All in all ... winter has officially begun and all the fun drivers have come out to play! Of course... as anyone would think... I'm totally the best driver ever!!! hehe *winks*
How is your Thursday shaping up? Anything fun this weekend?
Oh by the way... I bought new mittens. Not my fav, nothing like what I had before... but they'll do for now. :o/
So... school has begun.. AGAIN! Plus I'm moving in three weeks... I know, didn't I just move?! Why yes, yes I did... without going into it, it's best that I'm moving and I'm very much looking forward to it! Pretty sad how excited I got today when Office Depot delivered and brought me some very nice boxes!!!
Phantom of Opera is coming to Omaha. Hooray!!! Jamie and I will be in attendance the moment I know his exact dates! I love Phantom and couldn't have been happier to discover, so does he!
Well... I have more laundry to do. Gotta love laundry... or not! So... off I go.. with a smile on my face!
P.S. .. I think I took care of the pic problem from the previous post! Also... I"ll keep working on the better update thing! :o)
So... after Jamie's visit to Omaha on December 7th my life officially began to change. Then, I went to London (a much more suitable vacation place than Omaha!!! hehe) over New Year's and .... I'm hooked. Including all the mushy lovey dovey stuff!!!
Plans are for he to come back around the Valentine's holiday and then I will for sure be going there around my birthday in May... all the while both slowly moving my things to London! Also, Molly saw the vet last Thursday and is starting the process of becoming a Londoner... *winks* that's all for now....
Ooo... and some pics! Omaha, London... you name it!

If there were ever such a thing as being swept off your feet, having met your prince charming or just knowing off of your first hug and kiss... I can vouch for the truth behind these things... as I am living proof!!! :o)
One can't help but be a slight cynic at heart... but when it comes down to it... when you meet your someone the world simply seems to stop and the pieces fall in to place.
That said... I hope and wish for the same to happen for you! If it already has... hooray! Frank... Amy... may I join your club?
Also... fyi... I'll be in London for New Year's...
- Mood:
ecstatic
So... it's always a nice day when the boss' provide you with a very generous gift certificate to the mall, just to say thank you and they appreciate all I do! First and foremost… one can’t complain about a job where they are constantly told how much they are appreciated! And, although, I will admit I am not an avid mall goer, when essentially free money is in your pocket. One finds a way to go!!! :o)
I've finished class number one and am about halfway through class number two. It's going well... to think I'll be teaching Spanish this time next year! Really not so far away!!! :o)
My mom just celebrated her birthday yesterday. She's the big 53! Haha... she totally doesn't look that old and it just doesn't seem to fit her personality. She looked so cute in her white collared shirt and red vest with her black gauchos... The best part is how completely clueless she is when she's getting hit on! I love it!!! I love my Mom!
I have officially booked my ticket to
Now my roommates will be gone as well for Thanksgiving so, thank God for Cindy. My friend Cindy will be keeping my kitty. I’m very happy about this because if I were to pick anyone to take care of Molly, it would be Cindy. She’s a very good kitty babysitter!!! Besides my Mom has a cat that is flirting with evil and DOES NOT get along with anything or anyone. My sister also has a cat that literally army crawls at a very fast pace EVERYWHERE it goes and is afraid of EVERYTHING! So… thank you Cindy!!! :o) I looked into taking her on my flight… yeah… so Frontier says, she cannot be in the cabin but in the pressurized/temperature controlled compartment and they will take very good care of her for a measly $200. Are you kidding me!!! I have to even put her on the conveyer … she’s freakin’ 6 lbs. To bring an additional luggage of 50 lbs is an additional $50. You’re going to charge me $200 to set a possible 10 lbs. plastic carrier with food and water in it and a sleeping, slightly drugged kitty!!! Again… thank you Cindy!!!
So, work is getting to its crazy, busy part of the year!!! :o) .. or more like :o( which in turn is consuming much of my time and thus is the only excuse I have for not updating more regularly.
Thank you for those you have emailed me and told me they missed me… I’ll do my best to keep updating. :o)

So... I was a little overtired... I thought this frog lighter was pretty cool. The things you can find at a rest stop!!!
Behind the frog is the front of an application for a "Casey's Card" :o)
Oh joy... we're smiling together!!!
Then... my mom got in an accident. I wasn't involved... and she's 100% ok!!!
Yes she did drive up someone's yard.. and knocked their shed off it's foundation. (none of this was her fault... and she didn't have a scratch!!! Crazy!!!)
Almost knocked down a fence...!!!
- Mood:
thankful
Haha, I love this guy. Maybe it's because I'm studying to be a history teacher or maybe he's just hilarious!!! Enjoy!!!
I must say that first I am glad to say that the endless summer of weddings is over! Last weekend was Denver, staying up until five in the morning Saturday night and leaving Sunday morning at 7 a.m. Back to a week of work and school and never catching up on sleep and then ...
Friday
I got off of work and went home for a brief nap and some catching up on Big Love. Made myself a snack and passed out only to be awoken by a three year old little girl asking "why are you sleeping". (My roommates daughter... cute, but not really) Serves me right for sleeping in the living room.
Then I leave the house by 7 p.m. for the pre-wedding BBQ out at my friend's (Tiera - Bride) mom's house. About 45 minutes away. Arrive there... very low energy... play some pool, have some drinks (her mom and step-dad live on a ranch and have horses and all kinds of animals and have converted a huge barn into a big party place... including extra bedrooms - very nice). I'm there until 11:30 at which point I'm actually having trouble staying awake while standing. So, I headed for home.
Saturday
I again awoke to my roommate and his daughter arguing about putting her shoes on, about 7 a.m. :o( Went back to sleep for awhile, woke up at 9 a.m. and took a shower and left by 9:30. Off to brunch at Tiera's Mom's (bride - I'm the maid of honor) then we went to the church with all of the flowers and then to the reception hall for name tags and everything. Then we went to yoga (that's Tiera and my thing) and then got our hair done, nails done (hands and feet), make-up done and now it's three. I need my dress on and the wedding starts at four!!!
Wedding starts.. goes off without a hitch. Six o'clock reception starts ... after tons of pictures, some pretty windy weather.. and what looks like there might be rain. Pictures were hurried. Reception goes until 11 p.m. Help Tiera get the essentials (things she wants to keep) and finally I'm on my way home. I'm home by midnight. I fell asleep in a record 2.5 seconds. I really do believe. I woke up the next day around 11 a.m. my cat sprawled across me and really having no desire to get out of bed.
Sunday
Like I said... woke up at 11 a.m. Laid in bed until about noon watching random programming. Finally realize I'm hungry and being that my cat is practically yell meowing at me, she is probably hungry too. Sorry Molls :o( So, I get up feed the cat, give her her morning (well afternoon) tarter control treat and fresh water. I wonder downstairs and decide I'll make a hot dog and drink some apple juice. At this point I realize I went to bed without taking my hair down or make-up off, which is rare for me and go in the downstairs bath and nearly scare myself. Black around my eyes, and my hair is everywhere due to strategically placed pins and hairspray. I eat, go upstairs and take a shower and find a book and am back in bed. Where I stayed... ALL DAY! Being sick and having too many weddings that you're in and singing in really can wear you out!
So.. next weekend! No weddings!!! Hooray... although, someone will be in town and I will be going on a date. :o) Can't help but smile about that...
take care all,
Brie

So... good times over all... :o) Thought I'd share!!! I'm already missing not being there. I need to go back!
